Dunno but there probably is a longer word than frithchothromaíocht at 19 letters.
    Means counter-balance.

    Here's an interesting list of Ireland's longest place-names: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_longest_placenames_in_Ireland :)

The English translation for Muiceanach idir Dhá Sháile is an abomination. At least the 2005 Act got rid of it and other unnecessary official translations for Gaeltacht placenames.

Do chemical names count? Not entirely made up of letters (but no spaces in between), this one has 113 characters:

    (1R,4S,5R,8S)-1,2,3,4,10,10-heicseaclóir-6,7-eapocsa-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-ochtaihidri-1,4:5,8-dhémheatana-naftailéin.

And the genitive has an extra letter (an E added to the end).

Leas-phríomhfheidhmeannach? Cineáilín maked-y-uppy but still... if focal has it, it counts!
