Yep, mine arrived at my local ParcelMotel just before 1am last night. Will collect shortly.

EDIT: Both myselfs and DMan's were 8GB's - wonder does this explain the quick despatch?

Think it may be due to the fact we got in before the huge demand for them, and the influx of people using PM addresses.

Also, I'm majorly jealous you've yours and I've to wait all day to collect mine. :D

Great to see more people getting theirs shipped. The ironic moment when the Nexus 4 becomes one of the most popular phones in Ireland, and it not even be sold here!!

    mine didn't go through since

''billing and shipping addresses match what is on file with your bank''

does anyone know if i can add the pm address in belfast as a billing address for the credit card?

Yes, just be careful that the bank don't send any letters to your PM address @ €3.50 per item :D

I tried to do that on Banking365 last night and they said any changes to address have to be done in a branch. I may try to do it at lunchtime if I don't get any notification before then.

Doesn't a change of address require a bill or similar with the address on it?

When I had to do it previously after moving house (about 3 years ago) they didn't require a bill but they did require that a form be filled out and posted to my home branch, which was then rerouted to a central office in Dublin. The form managed to get lost between my branch and the head office, so I had to fill it in and send it again. The whole process took 2 to 3 weeks.

ah just got a order cancelled, sure gonna hav e to just try again with another cc..

i rang boi card services and changed the address over the phone

should take 3 days to be effective

only prob is the statements will now go to that address too so i ll have to revert it back to my dublin address once the order goes through

seems like a lot of hassle for a phone, tbh i already regret it

What number did you call? I went through the main banking365 number and was told it wasn't possible.

i rang the 1890 number on the back of the card

How much more hassle does it require?!
Google cancelled my order ysterday and locked my UK Google wallet as address did not match bank data. Now they want a scan of ID and bill/statement confirming my address.
I guess a statement with Dublin address won't do any good here ;)
This account seems to be lost :( or any advice here?

I am planning to call MasterCard now and add parcel motel address as additional billing address and give it a try with new UK gmail account. Yet another account.
    What you think?

Why Google, why? Why are you making it so hard?

Because they don't really make any money on the phone itself. It's the old razor blade model....they want you to spend money in the play store and until recently the play store didn't have much in Ireland. They don't want the phone ending up somewhere that it's unlikely to deliver actual revenue, hence the strict(ish) controls in place.

Jesus, hope I don't run into problems ordering this D:

Ordered 8GB phone at 4pm on Wednesday, set up new Google account using expat shield
Used Irish debit card, Irish phone number and parcel motel address
Google got a bit confused when I tried to log in to the account from an Irish based IP five minutes later and asked me where I usually log in from!
Got email this morning saying it was dispatched. Tracking on parcelforce says it was in the national hub at 2.29 this morning. Wonder how quickly it will be in my parcel motel?

Mines still pending. Think I see a problem. Always used tunnelbear set to uk when checking order status. But in gmail history half of logins originate from us ip address. Got a query from google about ip location.

Yeah, think I'm screwed, ordered Wednesday afternoon and order is still pending.Used Tunnelbear too,but my login history just says unknown location, which they will probably find a bit dodgy.

I'm with PTSB also and used PM as billing address, curious to know who others who've had orders cancelled bank with?

  • Registered Users Posts: 39 Detective Mittens

I have followed all instructions but when setting up Google wallet on my UK Google account, it wont accept my visa debit. I have used the Belfast Parcel motel address as Home and billing address but I just get:
    Invalid credit card.

Hi. I know the reason. That was a rethorical question. Thanks anyway for writing. It may be beneficial for somebody who doesn't know what's the story. Unfortunately it is going to be like that until we have full play store access in Ireland.

For general information. I've just called MasterCard and they don't allow to have multiple billing addresses. Your billing address is your mail address for the statements.
So I need to change it back before my next statement is due to be sent to me or otherwise it will arrive to me through parcel motel and cost me 3.50 ;)

Tonight I'm giving it a try with another new UK gmail account.

I used a UK debit card I still have from when I lived there. Used that billing address on the form. Still pending

Has anyone had problems other than using an Irish credit card?

I cancelled my order but the money was still taken out of my bank account, What do I do to get it back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 669 ✭✭✭Ilyushin76

I think it takes about a week before it returns again to your account.

What did you expect? It's a usual conversion crap (1GB=1024 or 1000 megabytes) and it's 8GB minus OS(should be well over 1 Gig) minus bloatware and the value is always before formatting.

Turns out I'm going to London tomorrow. If I had found out before today I could've bought one of these. :(

Was only expecting about 1.5GB max being used for the OS, as the Nexus doesn't come with the usual bloatware other phones come with.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭Cossax

    Bloatware on the Nexus 4?

Had a quick google and that suggest "Pending" suggests the item isn't in stock, which would explain the shipping date being 10 September.

Ordered about an hour ago and is pending still. It is saying ship on 10th Sept - will wait and see what happens.

Used UK Google account (set up whilst on work PC - which is routing through London so has UK IP address) Used my PM address in Antrim and an Irish phone number and Irish debit card so not sure whats going to go down!

€197.93 - just taken out of my bank account (got the 8GB version)
