Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iPad - Activation required

I have and iPad 1 and I got this message recently for no apparent reason - "Activation Required". I have had the device a few years without any trouble. The firmware is up to date.

When I proceed to activation it says that it may take up to three minutes, and then proceeds to go through a rebooting loop. After a long search on the interweb, I have tried the following with no success:

    1.hard reset
    2. full itunes restore
    3. restoration of ipsw 5.1.1 through redsn0w, the most up to date ipad 1 firmware. This completed successfully but the loop was still present.

can any of the more learned folk here share any suggestions/solutions that will revive my ipad?

    many thanks
