Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Basically I had a iPhone 4S on bill pay metor ,paying €35 a month . I dropped it in water last month an it broke , I bought a brand new replacement from metor for €300 same phone and continued my contact , my contract expires in January an I'm wondering if in January can I get the original iPhone repaired privately ,and request them to unlock it for me then? . I've heard horror stories from people saying that metor don't mention that they have to give the broken phone back, then be billed for it a few months down the line , and I don't want to en up in this situation myself

    Thanks in advance

The old phone is the one locked into the contract, so there should be no issue getting it unlocked by meteor once the contract is up. You might even be able to chance your arm and get the newer one unlocked if you try it a few days later. At the end of your contract, you are free to upgrade and get a new phone...if you want and you can pass on, or sell the old ones.

Why would you have to give the broken phone back if you had to pay for a new one?
You probably could have gotten a replacement (and still can) from apple for €211. Iirc that's the price for a water damaged iPhone 4S. Just check out the out-of-warranty repair service on apple.com/ie

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking , somebody told me they had the same situation and they asked for the phone back a few months later or they were faced with a fine . Thanks or the reply though

Not familiar with meteor but can only imagine they would want the phone back if its a (free) insurance replacement...

But the OP said he bought the replacement for €300. That doesn't sound like an insurance replacement and would be a serious excess if so.

Was thinking the same, only wrote this cause the OP was reffering to antoher person in the "same situation" maybe the other peron was actually dealing with an insurance replacement (so not really same situation).
