Whenever I hear the Dexy's tenor saxes kick in and the crown baying, I always chant Creedo Creedo Creedo Creedo :)

Some Del Amitri to kick things off tonight.

"....and we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow"

That Making Sand song is very pleasant on the ears.

I must say, Creedon was excellent with the conversation in and around An Taoiseach's statement this evening. Factual and clear and in focus with both the nature of the broadcast and in talking to the on duty news journalist. He did well.

...and followed it up with a bit of afro-celt soundsystem. It was just what was needed!

Enjoyed that Bill Doggett, new name for me. Nice vibe to it.

Fair play to John for playing Van Halen - RIP Eddie.

Thought John was going to play Aztec Camera’s cover of ‘Jump’ then...

Love the show, so sorry for my first post here being a slightly negative one. But does he play that Cowboy Baby song every night?

I really liked it the first few times he played it, now I just think, not again.

    :)

Never knew Aretha covered ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ - pretty decent :)

    John Lee Hooker for president.

    I agree with Ry Cooder.

Is nothing sacred? The relaxation and enjoyment of the John Creedon show disturbed by an advert for LiveLine, featuring the clip of the woman finding her husband, passed away in the sun room. For pity’s sake, some respite from Joe isn’t too much to ask, is it?

He's played it a lot in past couple of weeks, though that's not unusual with new songs. Mary Coughlans latest been on lots too and that Fontanes DC track, "Life ain't always empty" must be nearing record territory at this stage. Bit weary of that one myself!

I must admit I prefer Paul Carrack’s Version of Tempted. Sorry, Squeeze

I think Carrack played on that track; it was recorded after Jools Holland left, and if i am not mistaken, he replaced Holland

Yep, spot on! Carrack joined the group to replace Jools Holland on keyboards. He took on the lead vocals for Tempted, Difford the straight lines in the second verse with Elvis Costello adding the deep throated bits for good measure.

Oddly enough Carrack bailed after the one album. He reportedly once said that he'd would not have joined Squeez had he known how big they were as he wouldn't have had the nerve!

Not sure what this is, but it is more modern than I'd expect to hear from Creedon.

This record by Michael Martin is a bit boring.

    Mostly spoken word. :pac:

It's his avant-garde later years stuff. A bit like marmite.

He definitely won't be a Christmas number one.

He definitely won't be a Christmas number one.

He's probably more of an album artist, bit like Pink Floyd or ELP or the quiet lad out of Right Said Fred.
