Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Did Ferguson not say that AW was not a man to play poker with ?

Talk that a loan bid for juvens vuvunic was rejected.

I fear during our tough run of fixtures giroud won't be able for them all and it could be bender
    starting against city or Chelsea.

Ha ha me either! BT bought it - I was all ready to go on the Saturday but bartered my way down to only needing to take a half day at work to go.

Possibly card display for the Champions League Match versus Bayern.

    REDaction Gooners ‏@REDactionAFC 1m
Looking ahead to Bayern, this is the idea we are thinking about for the card display. Remember to get in early!

maybe not, the draxler stuff isn't coming from arsenal though

something like that or he could play poker in Govan

but that was to do with him not budging on the RVP price, not about a 'poker face'

i think it applies to how he deals in the transfer market too. I'd say we're not in for Draxler at all. Far too much talk about it atm

Wenger will never come out and say we are not interested in Draxler either despite journalists asking. He will say he's a player he admires.
He loves that kind of thing.

In fairness the Suarez episode was everywhere and we were in for him.

That smirk of his in the press conference was awful like the pre Ozil interview too.

I've a feeling the Draxler deal is similar to the deal we had with Moneal.
We've already agreed on the transfer but we are waiting until the summer to officially announce it.

i thought it was about not being able to take money (RVP) off him easily. Govan being your 'tough' place full of lads who'd know every trick in the book, who would normally be the ones coming out better off

i'm not sure about draxler either, if they really want him and it looks as if he'd be gettable now, what's the point in waiting until summer?

    podolski you mean?

Wasn't the Monreal deal lined up for summer but injuries caused the club to get him a transfer window earlier?

I'm pretty sure it was the same with Monreal.
We had a deal planned for the summer but Gibbs got hurt so we pushed the deal forward.

Malaga needed the cash so the didn't have a choice. Could be wrong though.

We've done it regularly enough where we've had players sewn up early. I remember we had Rosicky signed before the world cup. Actually now that I think of it we might have an early transfer or two this year with the world cup, or else we'll be left pulling our hair out until the end of the summer

yeah injuries or the calamity that was andre santos at LB.
i don't think there was any deal in place though, just that they were going to go for him, not sure either now

but monreal came in january though, with podolski that one was all but confirmed until the summer, probably agreed from feb/march onwards, well it seemed to be anyway

anyway it doesn't matter, i still don't see the sense in waiting though

We lost away to United 4-2 on a Friday night.
Must have been about 30 year ago. I remember being so excited that we were on the tv.

I am surprised an oul fella like yourself doesn't remember it. ;)

iirc we also played on Good Friday during the Invincibles, almost certain. Might be mistaken though

Don't forget the Friday night in 1989 when we beat the Pool 2-0 at Anfield to win the league. Mickey Thomas with the last gasp winner. Oh happy days.

    Team for Tomorrow lads?
    Back 5
    Flamini Wilshere
    Gnabry Ozil Cazorla
    Giroud

Acually wouldnt be suprised to see Podolski start instead of Gnabry or Cazorla.

You'd be right, it was the 4-2 vs Liverpool when Henry got a hattrick. I was listening to it in work on the radio, that's how I remember it.

Funnily enough we played many Friday games during the invincible season.

    Newcastle 3-2 at Highbury
    Leeds 5-0 at Highbury
    Liverpool 4-2 at Highbury

    Good omen perhaps? ;)

I remember my bro went on a first date the night that Newcastle game was on. Obviously wanted to go out with this girl so bascially grinned and beared missing the match without bringing it up. They were walking by a pub on the way to dinner and she says do ya wanna go in and watch the football instead? They're married now.

    How wonderful is this?

Our biggest result of all time was on a Friday.
Three of the invincibles games including the crucial win over Pool were all on Friday.

I remember some obscure game 30 years ago that we bloody lost!

I just read Kenny daglishs preview of Chelsea vs Utd

Kept referencing how Chelsea need too keep the pressure on city, and how they can't slip up in the shoot out with city for the title

Now I still don't think we will win it, but we are top of the table and we don't get so much as a little mention in all this

    Invisible arsenal I like it

I suppose the brutal truth is though, if we took off our Arsenal hats, that it most likely will be City who go on to win the title.

I don't get the whole Chelsea or City thing though. I think Arsenal have a great chance of finishing above Chelsea and if Chelsea are regarded as real contenders, so should Arsenal.

If you look at the remaining fixtures Chelsea are the best bet IMO. Been to Arsenal, Everton, Man United, Spurs, Newcastle and Southampton.

We have to go to Chelsea, Everton, Spurs, Liverpool and Southampton.

2 points behind us yet havent been overly impressive.

I stand to win 700 euro if Arsenal win the premiership. I made the bet in August, before Arsenal signed Ozil. I had a feeling in my gut and I still do.

Not yet. The BBC are saying Rosicky may play with a face mask if selected and Monreal should be fine for today.

Im surprised he didnt start waffling about Spirit of Shankley or some other tripe.

Nothing worse than listening to an ex-Liverpool head talking football as it inevitably always goes back the the 'Pool.

    Its a strange one

Id have him in there ahead of Cazorla.

Thought we would definitely start ahead of Cazorla.
That team should easily beat Fulham, but you just never know sometimes.

Surprised at that especially as Cazorla isn't in great form

I laughed at that Skertle interview when the interviewer asked him why he has been so long at Liverpool and yet hasn't picked up the scouse accent.
Ans - I like to speak proper English ( and it wasn't said as a joke).
