Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

can someone remind me why he picked 52, also isnt he getting 52k week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,706 ✭✭✭premierstone

You producing stats that comprise his entire career from 16-24 compared against ages 25-26 as evidence that he's more prolific now (ergo, it's easy for players of his type in Spain) shows that you're either a) on the wind-up, b) being willfully ignorant or c) an idiot.

I'm going to go with a little bit from column a, a little bit from column b and a big dollop from column c!

    Double his old number?

Indeed, only 99.9% of the time.

I don't think he ever explained it.

52 cards in a deck? Paddy power all over that.

The importance of Ozil signing is best exemplefied by all these newfound numpties coming in to this thread out of the blue spouting streams of drivel.

Shook Ones! Please to meet ye.

    Com on you Gunners!

As far as I remember that was exactly why he picked it, he got a new contract doubling his pay to 52k.

He also offered to replace anyone's jersey who had already bought a Bendtner 26 one.

    Which was about 4 people.

If and its a very big if, he knuckles down and gets his head together he could prove to be a decent squad member

Maybe Bendtner has been on to Adebayor and realised that if he wants to get a half way decent contract when this one expires, he'll have to bother his hole for at least half a season.

    I don't get it

When other teams signed good it great players I never felt the need to go in and tell them how bad he is

I might mention it in here but not in that clubs thread

    What's that all about???

Thats before we even get into the fact Cesc was the main man for Arsenal whereas he's only really the 4th cog of the midfield/attacking wheel at FCB. In short his stats should be better. You can't ignore that

They're teenage strikers. Run fast kick ball hard.

Now go find us some teenage midfielders with great stats.

What ye make of this lads? Find it kind of hard to believe myself. Saying RM actually offered Benzema to us and we turned them down: http://www.theshortfuse.com/2013/9/6/4701072/arsenal-transfer-rumours-benzema-reject-real-madrid

Giroud has pulled out due to a knock in training. Hopefully it's minor.

Scrap that - appears he's still playing Apparently Evra caught his ankle in the warm up

pinch of salt for now. I doubt RM would have wanted to sell him without having an adequate replacement. And I was under the impression that AW was a big fan too

Find it hard to believe that Madrid would leave themselves with only one out and out striker in Morata.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

Per and Ozil start for Germany.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

I'd say we will see alot more of Walcott playing striker this season

Excellent news but more importantly do you have any news from the Germany match? Hope our Ozil is ok?

    Someone tweeted this

Just looked at Özil’s stats. 98% pass accuracy rate. 71 touches. 1 shot, 1 foul, 1 dribble. (80 minutes gone.)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

    Özil’s full match stats: 99% pass accuracy. 50% aerial duels won. 87 touches. 1 shot, 1 foul, 2 dribbles. @WhoScored rating: 7.1.

Ilkay Gündogan and Martin Montaya are Arsenal targets. Both are free next summer and can sign pre-contracts in January, wrap them up arsene and spend 50 on a striker and thats us set then for 2014/2015.

I'd say Gündogan will sign a new contract soon.
But Montoya would be a great signing. He'd be great competition for Jenks

Gundogan has a contract until 2015 I believe.

    Not sold on Montoya.

Gundogan's contract runs till 2015, and he is expected to sign a extension to 2018 within next few weeks.

It might be naive of me think otherwise but i genuinely think we could challenge for the title this season. If we manage to get all our players back from injury and tighten up at the back then we have a chance. I have a feeling Giroud could score 20 plus goals this season with Ozil creating plenty of scoring chances.
