Green LEDs

Hi all,

Not entirely sure if this is right place to be asking this, but it seemed to be the most on-topic forum here I could see at least, so sorry if this is wrong.

Anyway, I was hoping somebody could point me to somewhere where I could get ~400 green LEDs at a cheap price. Also, does anyone know of a tutorial online somewhere on how I would go about setting these up so that they are all controlled by the one power source (so either they would all be on or all be off)?

Basically line a panel with LEDs, and another panle with several mesh gaps will be going over that so when on the light floods through. And I'm trying to do it as compact as possible.

Unfortunately those guys on ebay only have white left.

Sounds like LED strips may be better? Something like this?

I saw those alright, but wasn't really sure what they were, they looked a bit like Christmas lights to me.

Managed to get my hands on the LEDs easy enough, however trying those tutorials it doesn't work, so I really haven't a clue what to do.



These are the ones I got, and when connected to the 1.5V battery like in the tutorial, nothing happens.

Ok turns out green needs a bit more kick than the red that the guys uses in the tutorial, so I tried two batteries and it worked. Thanks for all the help roast.

eh you should really put a resister in series to allow current control and stop the LED's breaking down due to over voltage drop.

is sugest using a resisted and a POT wher the resister will set a voltage drop to protect the LEDS and teh Pot will allow you to "dim" (control the current in) the LED's
