Hi just wondering what would be your best price on a Sony KDL-42W653A. Been looking around review sites and it seems like it has the best pure picture quality in lower end Smart TV's at present without the limited viewing angles of the UE5500.

If you have any better suggestions please feel free. Searching for a mate who bought through pixmania but got screwed over by them and just wants honest service and sure nobody better than RS :). Cheers.

    Hey Blinked.

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. Hope it didn't cause him too much stress.

The Sony KDL42W653 is priced at £549.95 with a free 5 year warranty thrown in for good measure and delivery would be £24.95.

This is an excellent TV and one that is particularly good for viewing angles. This is a TV that I would recommend and the only other that would outperform it is more expensive in the Panasonic TXL42ET60 which is £649.95.

This does come with the 5 year also however the Panasonic has 600Hz processing instead of 200Hz and has a much better image that the Sony. The viewing angle on the Panasonic has a 178 degree viewing angle which is superb.

The Sony would take around 3-4 days to get to you and the Panasonic would be the same.

These are both excellent TV's but in my opinion, the Pana is worth the difference, but the Sony is the one to look at if he's on a budget.
