I am in the market for a fairly decent laptop.

So far the best spec for my money that I can find is a new Sony Vaio laptop with the following spec:

    Intel® CoreTM i7-3537U, 2 GHz
    Windows 8
    Black
    No Touch Screen
    39.5cm LED 1920 x 1080 +webcam
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 735M 2 GB
    256 GB SATA Flash SSD
    12 GB 1600 MT/S DDR3L-SDRAM
    DVD disc drive

I can get this for £927.98 sterling. Is there any other laptops that would have a similar spec for around this money?

I do not want to go over £1k as the 900 odd is scary already!

This Core i7 is not the latest generation. Not a quad core either, it's a dual core ULV processor, a glorified Core i5, if you will. The GPU is not really suitable for gaming on a full HD display.

I'd say you'll get better specs (Haswell Core i7, GTX 765M) for your money at PC Specialist.
