Is there any particular rules about bringing drugs (legal, obviously) and medication into Australia?

Generally no problem. But always ensure they are scripted or you have a Doctors letter. Especially if flying via UAE.

Declare them on the form you fill in on the plane, they will ask you at the passport check and tell them the y are prescription meds, have your doctors letter handy too.

I believe the maximum you can bring is three months worth. Generally I've found drugs to be cheaper here in any case
