    Howyeh,

I'll be in Cork city at the end of the month, can anyone recommend any decent rock/metal pubs or clubs?

There's three I can think of.

Fred's on Parliament St. (tending towards hard rock/metal)
Ziggies on South Main St. (tending towards heavy/classic rock)
Charlies near the City Hall (tending towards classic rock with a mixture of weird thrown in)

    BDSM North Main Street

There's BDSM on North Main Street, which is newly open, serves only craft beer on tap, but gets uncomfortably packed at the weekends.

Preachers on Washington Street, which is a bit cramped.

Mr. Bradley's near the top of Barrack Street seems to have taken over hosting metal gigs from Freds, so might be worth checking it out for any live music.

Out of all of them metal pubs listed so far, Fred Zeppelins on Parnell Street is my favorite. It's one of the older, more established rock/metal bars in the city.

    Thanks peoples.

I was in Fred's last time I was in Cork, which was probably 20 years ago :pac:

Freds only turned 15 at the start of the year so you were more than likely there a lot more recent than that.

Or maybe it wasn't Freds I was in after all :pac:

Was it called something else previously or is there another older rock bar? I know for definite the bar I was in the last time I was in Cork, which was probably around 93/94 was the same one I was in before seeing Prince in Páirc Uí Chaoimh which as far as I remember was in 1990....

    McCabe's maybe?
That predated Fred's in the same location.
