    Hi,

My old PSU died, so I installed a new one, this was my first time doing this. The power is working now, but the PC isn't booting up properly. I took photos of the old PSU connections before I took it out, and then put in the new PSU and thought I put them back in the correct places, but the PC still isn't booting up correctly. I redid it making sure that all connections are in place. It's a windows 7 and boots up as far as ACHI drive (?) INIT then all that happens is I get a blank screen with the cursor in the top left corner.

Any ideas on what I've done wrong and how to fix it?
I have attached before and after photos below.

Im trying to digest what that multicolored card of yours is?

The first pic: is that 5.25" drive getting a SATA power connection?

Pics 5-7, the MoBo 4-pin is seated properly?

The fishy looking one here is Picture 3:

Why does your 24-pin connector only have 20-pins?

Have a read of this: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-specifications-atx-reference,3061-7.html either you PSU might have a loose 4-pin power lead hanging out, that you can stick in that spot (unlikely, and frankly I wouldnt play with it) Or you bought a lower end PSU that only has the 20-pin ATX connector, and your board is looking for the 24-pin. I wouldn't try to move the 4-pin 12v into that spot (not that it will probably fit). Ive never had this problem before so frankly this is a smidge of guesswork on my part. Frankly I'd go source a different PSU which clearly defines having the 4-pin 12V and the 24-pin ATX

Thanks I'll give that a go.
