Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What is the point of Glen Whelan???

Apart from a goal against Georgia (in Mainz??), I cannot remember a single contribution he has made, ever

Lets try put a positive spin on this, if by some miracle we would have gone to Brazil we would still have Trap as manager and we would have been making up the numbers, if the score stays the same at least we can realistically start talking about the next Ireland manger and a new regime of Irish football

    Martin O Neill anyone ?

Ireland were starting to get back into it somewhat when that bloody streaker appeared. Very unwelcome distraction IMO. Plus imagine we were one up. All of a sudden there is 5 mins extra time instead of 3 at the end cos of some bloody streaker and we concede in the last minute.

In short, streakers should be shot.

Wanted that to go in. Am I bad?

I'd prefer us to get an equaliser and not allow a superior footballing side to dominate us. They scored their second because our defensive midfielder didn't do his job properly, and yet you want a defensive midfielder taken off so we'll only have one on.

But it was 1-1 then, its 2-1 now. Are u saying we shouldnt change anything? 9 minutes left. Hoolahan should have been on earlier anyway, whats Cox done? Has it worked?

All Long seems to do in run into opposing players and then needlessly give the ball away! Horrible stuff to watch.

Once Trap has gone Delaney should shown the door as well. This manager has sent the Irish team into a downward spiral that will takes years to fix.

The most depressing thing of all is that we have nothing in the pipeline. No replacement for Keane, no replacement for Dunne. **** all quality.

Chin up Robbie you have more than done your bit for Irish football.

And this great new manager (probably McCarthy) can look forward to being possibly 4th seeds in the Euro 2016 draw.

    Great plan Batman!

Shane Long has been very poor today. He's not as bad as this.

Delaney has been a far better improvement to what was there before but he is paid a lot. Trap obviously has to go after tonight. Ireland aren't terrible but we aren't anywhere near up there to get to a major tournament.

He looked half decent until he took that knock.

Ray Houghton is the worst of the lot for stating the obviousness imo

For all his physical attributes Long just isn't a natural footballer, sadly. We're gonna really miss Keane when he calls it a day.

Its not that Ireland have no plan B, we have no plan A.
Typical of the complete lack of tactical cop on that has been the last few years under that Dinosaur. Keeping him after the Euros was idiocy, he has nothing to offer the modern game, he's stuck in the 80's and doesn't understand the modern game.
    Trap Out.
    Rabble Rabble Rabble.

Sacrificing a central midfielder for Hoolahan wouldn't work well against this lot. If Long had been taken off it would have been workable.

I don't mind losing when we give it our best but Trap has folded the tent long ago.

Ireland need to go looking at some players parentage again
