Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Forde shouldnt have been beaten that easily at his near post, and defending was dreadful.

    All over now.

Poor from Forde. hought he was poor enough earlier as well. Defence isn't playing as a unit either.

Glenn Whelan needs to have a word with himself and burn his passport.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,304 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Whelan kept up with him just enough to play him onside.

Time to take Whelan off and go attacking.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭jimjamcos

FFS...Whealan had the mobility of a bingo bus!

    Keeper shouldn't be beaten there.

Two poor CB's and Whelan's a passenger. Yet I still feel as if we've been the better side

    V.Poor from Whelan and Forde

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

In fairness to Whelan, he broke his balls to get back there when our centre backs got pulled out further than our full backs.

Zlatan has found so much time and space in between the lines. Practically the whole second half it's been Ireland hoofing and hoping and at this level, against a player as brilliant as Ibrahimovic, you will be found out and these stone age tactics are being found out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,428 ✭✭✭Talib Fiasco

Whelan is a terrible player. Can't fault him completely for the goal but in general he doesn't cut it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Central midfield has been poor tonight. Need to pull something out of the bag here.

Don't think Ibrahimovic has been anything to write home about.....

I think it needs to be pulled off the bench first.

Not where its mattered though. Any time Sweden have a bit of room in midfield theres plenty of space to plays balls into, we haven't a clue if we get it in there.

O'Shea's and Dunne's days are well gone IMO. Simply just the 'experience' factor now.

Doesn't matter, he's been decisive. Against the cannon fodder you can get away with Trapatonni's football but against real quality, proper quality like Ibra, there's no getting away from the facts.

He hasn't. With holes like we've left out there tonight it hasn't take much at all to create chances.

Prediction - First sub will be around the 85th minute..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭SirDelboy18

Great tactics on display here. Long ball, and if that fails, nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,076 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Ireland are playing hoofball, and that doesnt cut it at international level any more.

I think its time to forget about Brazil, Sweden are the most likely to score next.

And if he had have been able to create those other two that he did for Larsson for himself it would be game over.

He has been excellent for me.

That is ****ing shocking. No reason to hit it long from your central midfielder on the half way line. **** me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,076 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Why no subs yet? We are useless and creating nothing.

Don't know what you are looking at.

Ibra is strolling around controlling the game. He can't believe how poor the opposition are.

He's been selfless for a change. Dropped off and created lots of chances for others.

Only in comparison to what's been on show.

He has still had a big hand on both goals and will be even more dangerous from now till end of game with our lads tiring, time for Hookahan and Brady if Trap has any interest in at least a draw.

Get either brady or Holohan on ASAP.

All he needs is a split second to change a game though, unlike any of our players.

First was a Lustig assist, no?

Secondly, how about we take it as a given that I have watched the match and understand the basics of what has gone on to not have to have it pointed out to me.

I still think he has been poor when on the ball, by his own standards.
