Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Simon Cox, groan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,736 ✭✭✭Bleating Lamb

He has still had a big hand on both goals and will be even more dangerous from now till end of game with our lads tiring, time for Hookahan and Brady if Trap has any interest in at least a draw.

Cox.......hmmmmm bring on a lad that's been out of football for last month, way to go Trap.

    Cox ????

    Ridiculous substitution

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Isn't it sad that a player like Simon Cox will probably end his career with more caps than a player like Wes Hoolahan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,818 ✭✭✭swoody

    greene on for mccarthy next

There's a substitution that inspires confidence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

Not even the commentators can paint over how much of a non sensible sub it is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Ffs he's bringing on Cox!!! Trap is an absolute disaster for Irish football and will scar the team long after he's gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,968 ✭✭✭aindriu80

I can't see Ireland scoring again. We don;t have the players on the pitch

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,517 ✭✭✭passremarkable

    cox..wtf

We need a goal and he puts on a striker. Don't see a problem.

Hoolahan was a big disappointment against Wales.

I don't get that substitution. It makes absolutely no change to the team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Doesn't matter, he's been decisive. Against the cannon fodder you can get away with Trapatonni's football but against real quality, proper quality like Ibra, there's no getting away from the facts.

I really don't think he has done anything special. We've played against a lot of players over the years under Trappatoni who could have done what he did tonight. I mean, I think he's been a great player and all, but it was our frailties rather than his genius that have caused us to come unstuck.

Hit and hope football. Absolutely dire.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

The boys in the studio are going to tear strips out this second half performance with all the long balls.

Have to get the ball to them to score a goal though.

cox is terrible, thats the problem

If you play football based on long balls, percentages and the fact that the ball might fall kindly for you, thats hardly worth 1.75mill per year wages, is it?

"And Wes Hoolahan can only look on, Championship player goes on, Premier League player sits on the bench" - Georgie gets a nice dig in!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,151 ✭✭✭kupus

Lob ball, not going to get anything here tonight

    You can only hope.

Dire stuff and the manager is doing nothing about it as usual

That substitution has juat gifted 3 points to Sweden.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,280 ✭✭✭slingerz

At least Trap will be gone soon. Such a negative old fashioned manager.

What's wrong with playing 4-2-3-1 why the need to stick with 4-4-2 constantly??

And what has he got against Hoolohan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

Cox is poor and hes playing out the wing. So traps last role of the dice in his last few games here is to put on a poor player out of position.

Pilkington coming on - if we do anything it'll be through him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

The guy might be an idiot but I wouldn't mind having Stokes on the bench to bring on now! More prolific that Cox or Walters

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,517 ✭✭✭passremarkable

hopefully pilkington comes on for cox

man o man our set pieces have been a disaster, how hard is it to cross a dead ball?

I'm gonna have to disagree. Not scored but he's been on an entirely other level to any other player on the pitch. Practically everything good that Sweden have done has gone through him.

It is horrible to watch this,

The fact is we played some good stuff in the first half, we had something to build on. What were the players told at half time that makes them bring out all the bad stuff from the first half?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,829 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

    Bring on the Pilk!
