Back button issue

Hi folks

When browsing forums, & clicking into a thread say... if I click the back button in said thread it just brings me to the top of the previous page & doesn't remember where I was on that page. Any ideas what I can do to sort it?

Win7 x64

Can also replicate this, back button just jumps me to the top of the same page. A further press of the button then brings me to the previous page as expected. Chrome on Mac, latest build (27.0.1453.110)

The auto-scroll fired after a back button click is default browser behavior, handled client side. We don't control how it works on our end.

Do you experience the same issues in any other browser?

Out of interest could you post a forum / thread link you're navigating to and from, just so I can give it a whirl here.

Hmm, weird, because the issue only happens me on Boards, no other sites. Everything is working fine on FF, & the issue only happens using Chrome {my default browser}.

Browsing to AH for example, here's the link - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=7
Then, clicking last post of Trivial Things That Annoy You, gives me this link - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056858369&page=282
Then clicking back, gives me this link - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=7 {though brings me to the top of the page}

Thanks EnterNow, I can confirm the issue here on Chrome / OSX.

Everything's working fine for me here in Chrome on both Windows and Mint though, which is very odd. Working fine on all platforms in FF / IE / Safari too.

I'll take a better look into it this afternoon, ensure we're not doing anything funky client side ourselves, but may have to chalk this down as something on Chrome's end.

Back brings one to the top of the page but just touching the scroll wheel on the mouse initiates the jump to the previous position.

ie Say, I back out of the PC Building and Upgrading forum down the bottom of the Forum index page. When the Forum index page appears it displays the very top of the forum index page. (Aardvark forum etc etc etc). However, I don't have to scroll all the way back down to the Technology forums back down the bottom of the forum index page. Rolling the mousewheel one detent jumps the page down to the Technolgy forums where I was.

So it is remembering where one was last browsing, its just not jumping there automatically anymore and requires touching the mouse wheel.

Worse for me, my mouse scroll wheel is broken so I have to manually find where I was previously.
