Can you recommend a Blu-ray player to use with it (3D)?

Can I use the speakers that come with my all in one Samsung home theatre system who's Blu-Ray player has failed until I can purchase a better set of speakers?

We have the Onkyo TXNR515 in stock at the moment.

I would recommend going for the Sony BDPS490. A great player which is well reviewed, 3D and smart system on board for just £69.95

You may be able to use the Samsung speakers depending on the impedance. If you look at the back of the speaker it should be a figure between 6 and 16 ohms. The Onkyo is happy to run between 6 & 16 ohm speakers but the volume output will vary depending on the imedence of the speakers. The one problem that you may have is with the subwoofer. All receivers now expect to have an active subwoofer with them. There is a high likelihood that your sub is not active. You can wire it to the front speaker terminals but it's not going to give you the correct sound.

If there is a much better Bluray for not too much more I would like to spend the extra. 

Speakers i have are only 3ohms so will need these too. Black to keep wife happier. Should I go 5 speakers or 7? Currently have 7 but rear and side are on back wall so side units may not be too effective. 

Will be ordering some system for you on Monday.

To get a much better player you have to pay a good bit extra unfortunately.

I hope I am not asking too many questions, but if you had £1000-£1200 for a home theatre system what would you go for? 

Need and AMP, 3DBluRay player and speakers.

Is it possible to get the rear speakers run on wireless? (nightmare to get cable run in the room the unit is going into.

For that kind of money it would have to be the Denon AVRX2000 paired up with the Monitor Audio MASS 5.1 pack.  Couldn't say a bad word about either.  I think Denon have come back on top again this year with their AV amps.  Excellent sound for both stereo and home cinema.  They also have a very nice remote app available which works a treat

On the speakers the MASS pack deserves a mention.  Great deign and great sound.  Paired up with the Denon I've no doubt at all that it would be anything but amazing.

We can offer the Denon and MASS pack for just £1,049.95.

For a 3D blu-ray player check out the new Panasonic DMPBDT330.  We have this running in our demo room at the moment and it's fantastic!  Decent loading time and excellent picture quality.

Current price on this is £179.95.

Comes in just a little bit over budget at £1,229.90.  Well worth the extra £30 though

We can indeed   The MASS speaker stands work out at £149.95 per pair.  

For speaker cable I'd start at the Cambridge Audio Ultra Micro priced at £2.99 per meter.  This is a great low profile cable that's perfect for hiding around skirting boards etc.  Fantastic quality too for such a thin cable.
