I know that, but when it comes down to it the network has more power than Harmon.

I can't see Harmon or the cast wanting to do any more than 6 and a movie. I also don't think Sony would go past that. It has a loyal following but it's hardly a cash cow.

Six seasons and a movie is perfect.

I remember reading somewhere that Dan Harmon planed to have Justin Lin as its director so he has a plan. Did Serenity make a profit?

Yeh he said Justin Lin would be his first choice and then the Russo brothers. He also said paintball would probably be involved in some way in which case a final battle between Greendale and City College would probably be the plot … although there has also been talk about a trip to Vegas.

Serenity certainly wasn't a flop and was well received critically. But obviously didn't do enough to warrant a sequel.

Oh noes! Abed was right! We're all doomed.
Meteor shower later in May could turn out to be a STORM - with up to 1,000 shooting stars an HOUR

A remarkable new meteor shower is set to take place later this month
Event will occur during the nights of 23 and 24 May in the US and Canada
The origin of the shower is Comet 209P/LINEAR, first spotted in 2004
But this will be the first time Earth has passed through its 'tail' of debris

So what stage of grief is everyone in? I'm currently in between bargaining and depression. Sony will find another backer, right? Right???

    Also worth keeping in mind.

At a recent live taping of Dan Harmon's Harmontown podcast, for Portland's Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the Community creator was asked his co-host Jeff Bryan Davis how he was feeling about his show being cancelled.

"It'll take weeks to sink in," Harmon said.

Also commenting, "I was on my way to LAX, and somebody from Sony called me. Listen, the fans of that show have more reason to be upset than I do. I can go create another show. And also I got paid. The people that are most devastated are people that put unpaid labor into the show. Like, 'I'm hash-tagging this, I'm getting a tattoo of this, I love this show,' they didn't get compensated for it. They had a relationship with the show."

I think we need to let that go. The 6th season at least, although we might still get a movie.

I think Harmon would have mentioned a series pickup in that interview if it was going to happen

I don't think he is going to have information about pickup after one day. Too early to give up all hope.

If i were netflix or hulu i'd be doing everything i could to get the rights for community. Very loyal fans equals subscriptions. I only downloaded netflix when arrested development came on it. It carries less risk taking an already established show than creating a new show

True. But I doubt this very talented cast are going to wait around on a "probably maybe hopefully" ;)

I'm guessing they still have a contract with Sony until Sony are unable to find a new home for it.

Listening to Harmontown and in his rap, Dan says "Kickstarter Season 6" but then a quick Google leads me to...

Hulu has the rights to Community, and I don't see Netflix buying them out. I wouldn't think Hulu has enough money to actually make more Community?

With the cast and Dan ready to move on - I doubt we'll be reaching #sixseasonsandamovie :(

    I hope I'm wrong though.

So last night I have one of those "back in school" type dreams we've all had at some stage, except this time Im back in college and who's in my class? Yup, the cast of Community.

Now most of it is a bit blurry but one part of the dream that stands out is all of us in class, we're in a chemistry lab and in walks Alison Brie.

    In a mac.

And wearing just exactly this underneath

    http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i40awByG_Xs/UyHLlM_CdPI/AAAAAAAAjbI/xfdhEiDAJmk/s1600/Allison-Brie-GIF-30.gif

So she takes off the mac and gets up on the desk to be "examined" in the lab.

    Great dream eh?

Well it was all going grand until Dwight from the Office shows up, drops his trousers and for some reason starts rubbing his arse off Alison's knee.

    :(

Note to self, before going to bed never do these 3 things within a short space of each other:

    Eat something
    Read this thread, and then
Watch the US Office on Netflix

Good article on the AV club today. Does make me a little less optimistic about the show being picked up unfortunately. The logistics sound like they would be very difficult to manage. :(

Sad end? It was as happy as a series finale can be.

Or do you mean it being cancelled rather than closing out of its own accord? Five seasons was as good as anyone could have hoped for tbh, it was small miracle the show lasted as long as it did given all horrors that went on behind the scenes. I'm still retaining a sliver of hope someone will pick it up but I'm satisfied with what we got.

The latter, after all the drama of whether it would be renewed in previous seasons. It seemed like the six seasons was a strong possibility.

I would agree that it was miraculous it lasted so long. Still an excuse to watch from the start again this Summer.

id say a sixth season isnt going to happen. A movie somehow seems more possible.*

Joel McHale supposedly (all but officially confirmed) replacing Ferguson on The Late Late Show. A nightly talk show. So, probably won't be a season 6. We'll see though, if Sony can bang out a deal with some network and have the next season done within a few months it's possible.

If not. Here is some closure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4ZB61MfIWs

You mean replacing Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show, Seth Meyers already took over Late Night from Fallon back in February. It's all but confirmed officially anyway.

Hulu Eyes New Season Of ‘Community

    http://www.deadline.com/2014/05/community-hulu-season-6-dan-harmon/
There is a glimmer of hope that there could be a sixth season of cult comedy series Community.

Sources stress that conversations are preliminary and it is unclear whether they would lead to a deal, but I hear there is will on both sides.

Intriguing, though any new series would kinda depend on how many of the season 5 cast they get back: while the show worked perfectly well without Pearce & Troy, I'm not so sure it could live with further departures.

Could be tricky; Joel has a new chat show and Gillian Jacobs has signed onto season 4 of Girls. Hopefully they'll be able to work around them ... IF this happens
