Tesco mobile bonus credit query

Posting this for a friend who signed up for a payg phone from Tesco. I'm with 3 and am not familiar with the tesco network. He put in credit, then used it up but when he checks the balance it tells him that he has zero credit but he has 20 euro bonus credit which expires on 18th September. He cant text or make calls…

Bonus credit is only for calls (mobiles or landlines), texts or internet within IRL to Irish numbers.
