House value with business running from it

    Just wondering if anyone knows if an operational business running from a house will effect the value of the house? ie. if the house had a creche/montessori running in it and was part of the house would it increase the value?

    Are you including the business as a going concern with the house?

    That would be the plan.. We're renting it at the moment and have gotten planning permission to start the business. We plan to buy the house in the near future, we had gone to the banks just over a year ago to look at applying for a mortgage with the aim of getting planning permission and they said it'd be better to have planning first from their point of view.. I'm just wondering if having the business running from it would affect the valuation of the house.

    Its hard to say, There's a lot of variables. Your going to rule out a lot of purchasers but may attract investors.
