    Hi all

just seeking some info. We went sale agreed in July, the vendor is eager to sell and we are eager to get things moving, but the vendor solicitor is extremely slow, taking weeks to do any small thing. Our solicitor is currently waiting on a two lined letter from him over a small issue. Can anyone shed some light on why this solicitor might be dragging his feet?

    Thanks

had the same problem last year. It transpires that the vendor didn't actually want to sell but the bank wanted him to. so he just got an an gent to put it on the the internet and in spite of agreeing a price the sale didn't proceed.

After 4 months of messing about I withdrew from the sale.

Have they moved out yet, or got anywhere lined up to move into?

they only ever rented it out and its empty.

That is frustrating. Our solicitor is fantastic - get's back really quick and keeps on top of things.

The vendor's solicitor is much slower to respond, we're usually waiting days for a phone call to be returned.

So the vendor's solicitor is makings things slow, not yours.

What did the vendor say when you asked them why, and suggested they move their business to someone faster?

I said it again today and they said they would get onto him and get him moving, but its just so confusing you think they would want to get it all sorted to get paid

Maybe talk to your solicitor in making a deadline with a view to walk away?
