Can anyone recommend a good compilation/box set of stuff by British beat bands that would include bands like Herman's Hermits, The Searchers, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Hollies etc. That kinda thing. I've had a perusal through Amazon and all that lark but thought I'd get some opinions here as they vary greatly there.

Rhino's British Invasion series. There's nine volumes, released between 1988 and 1991. Great sound. Not too difficult to find second hand.

    Also recommend Decca's Scene compilations.

There's also Doin' The Mod. A bit off the beaten track but great.

Excellent. Thanks. That Rhino series looks spot on. Even has The Rockin' Berries.
