Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hoolahan is old. He might be a very good player but he is not 21

So what's your point? You don't think he's better than what's out there just because of his age?

Well I think Trap has to go for the simple reason that he has ran out of ideas.

He ran out of ideas nearly at the start of his tenure.

When Giles was Irish manager his tactics were not too far away from Trap's.
    Hypocrite.

Cringe at Green getting man of the match, in fairness he was alright, but Coleman should have got.

Dunphy thinks the game is in decline in Germany :D

    Gas man that old Dunphy

I think Green realises that he has probably earned his last Irish cap.

Does Liam Brady realise we weren't actually beating France it was 1-1 on aggregate. You would swear we were going through before Henry's goal.

He was on the sideline... Im sure hes well aware.

Is it not mathematically done and dusted? Sweden are 6 pts ahead with a better head to head than us?

I'd love to get someone like Rene Meulensteen is as manager. Get someone who focuses on the strengths of the team and works on them. He might do wonders with the younger players too.

Can anybody tell me why Joey O Brien is not involved in the squad. Unless he has made himself unavailable than i find it bizarre he is comfortably our best cb choice.

del bosque on €50k a year with Spain hahahaha Dunphy is a gas man!

Shane Long frustrates the hell out of me, God help us when Robbie packs it in as we will have no natural finisher in the team.

Did he ever have more than one? =p

Good point. Probably nothing else but 'defensive'

I think he is a good player but is on the verge of over the hill status and he doesn't command play physically enough.

He did get us to a major tournament for once in 10 years.

I'd say there's a few players there (or watching at home) who have earned their last cap.

Injured. He was in the squad but pulled out.

He has been overlooked before that though.

    If we beat germany.
    Sweden and Austria draw.
Sweden and austria then lose their next games and we win ours then we can qualify.

But that's not going to happen.

I think Dunphy was thinking about the CEO of Spanish football compared to Delaney when he was talking about those salaries. The Spain one is on a lot less than Delaney iirc

Id love to see Martin O'Neill get the job.

He'd be the first manager to bankrupt a National Team by going into th e transfer market and spending millions to buy Bale, Messi and Cavani...
