Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What did Wilson say in the interview ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,497 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Wilson's difficulty in grasping what he needs to do is his business. If he has communication issues he should ask for his instructions to be repeated

Trappatoni's difficulty in communicating what he needs his players to do is his business. If he has communication issues he should be looking for more ways to improve this so as not to have to repeat himself.

Step 1 would be to learn the language properly.

He was asked does he/they understand what the manager is trying to say. His stumbling and lack of coherence suggested an emphatic no!

Giles highlighted some of the key flaws of the Trap era fairly well

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,681 ✭✭✭ColeTrain

I see the situation in the same way as Liam Brady, Niall Quinn and Robbie Keane. I'd rather be in there company than Eamon 'Bayern are overrated' Dunphy, and John 'tactics are overrated, Bill' Giles.

Liam Brady used to work with Trap so his view is compromised.

Quinn doesn't know a whole lot than to give soundbites and platitudes.

Robbie Keane defended Stan Staunton to the hill. A player is hardly going to come out and criticise his manager in public, is he?

The fact is Trap is finished and it's now time for him to leave before can do more damage.

One player failing to understand his instructions does not mean there is a communication breakdown.

The players who qualified for the Euros with a record run seemed to know what they had to do.

You got all that from listening to it on the radio?

    1-0 Ireland. McCarthy goal.

Giles: "Barcelonas Plan B was to stay with Plan A"

To be fair it's about the best thing he's said in a decade :)

    Nice quote by Giles there.

"Take Barcelona. Their plan B is to continue with plan A".

Yeah let's blame him for all the woes of the team that caused us to lose tonight.

Actually, if Ireland do lose, it'll be horrible to see the abuse he alone will get, even if he isn't to blame!

I'm not laying the blame at Paul Greens door, just astonished by Trappatonis complete lack of ideas.

as in what the hell was Shane Long doing not squaring it to Robbie?! its actually unbelieveable!!!! Oh I just saw the highlights from the game a few minutes ago...

Well he was asked if the team understood. He didn't wanna say no.

Playing p,Ayers to their strengths does seem to yield better results.

we've actually passed it and retained it better in the first 7 mins than we did in the whole 90 mins at home.

    Very assured start.

Irish players make little attempt to find or create space for a short pass. Its not rocket science!

He is breaking up play quite well compared to whelan. Still would rather hoolihan.
