Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Google play appears to have apps for it

    [IMG][/img]7C8Jla4.png

I suspect those are for one of the two production models, which are full screen watches. This thing is an end of life prototype that looks like never made itinto production. So no standard apps but I'd say a good amount of hobbyist support for it. Should be fun :-)

Can it tell me the time in 5 different countries and does it have a calculator?

Fair play to the OP, this is a bargain. This watch, with its accelerometers will go nicely with the Oculus Rift. Maybe...

Wohoo! Shipped, 7-10 working days, DHL

  • Registered Users Posts: 389 ✭✭jmch81

Mine is on the way as well! Most importantly the shipping notification only mentions $49.99 nothing about the original cost.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,484 ✭✭✭Elbow

Mine is on route too, very excited :-D

So do we know if it'll do anything besides telling the time straight out of the box?

I'm guessing it will annoy you straight out of the box!

Thanks OP, I ordered one. I had a similar watch (Sony MBW-150) and was happy with it until it died suddenly. I was considering getting a Cookoo watch which is 3 times more expensive. Lots of other new smartwatch models will be coming up soon also like Galaxy Gear so this one is a good choice at this price to wait and see...

I know what you're referring to....What was the name of that tv show from the eighties where they could freeze time with their watches? I feel so old!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,641 ✭✭✭bgrizzley

is there any truth to the rumour that you can control the space time continuum with this watch?

Been racking my head. I google it and the only answer that comes up is 'Out Of This World'. Don't recognise that.

    Shipment Notification
    Texas Instruments

Shipment should arrive in 7 – 10 business days.

    :D

Got the same :) I've never been hit for customs before so what should I expect to pay? What happens if no one is home to sign for the package? Cheers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,726 ✭✭✭gerryk

Since it's DHL, they'll charge you directly, and won't have the €6 levy that An Post charges you for the privilege of having them collect tax. It's usually just VAT that's charged, so 23%, or whatever $11.27 works out at on the day (XE says €8.50 today)

They will either leave a collection attempted notice, or deliver the item and invoice you later.

There's no mention of the original $199 price on the invoice at the bottom of the Shipped email, so it's doubtful anyone will be stung with customs based on the non-discounted price. Not sure what customs could be on a $50 item, maybe 6 or 7 euro?

will this pair up and work out of the box or will I have to wait for a more noble steed to find some manner of rom that will make it work?

    What phone do you have?

HTC one x and Nexus 4.

Ideally I'd like it to work on the Nexus, although I've read that it won't out of the box.

Two days ago and no customs (unless the receptionist paid, I don't know that).

    Simple enough setup actually:

Download Meta Watch Manager Community Edition,
Pair the phone and the watch.
Curse the manufacture for not charging the battery :D
    Done
