Snapped wire peak in hood

Hi After several years of use and abuse I managed to snap the wire peak inside the hood of my waterproof jacket. It seems that once the wire has snapped, using the hood is difficult without the support. But I'd rather not replace a perfectly good jacket. Hi

After several years of use and abuse I managed to snap the wire peak inside the hood of my waterproof jacket. It seems that once the wire has snapped, using the hood is difficult without the support.

But I'd rather not replace a perfectly good jacket.

It looks like I could remove the broken wire by taking out a small amount of stitching at the side.

I am just wondering if anybody knows where I might get a replacement wire?

What brand is the jacket OP?
Maybe try contacting the manufacturer and see if they'll give you one?

As Suave says try the manufacturer first and if they cannot help you could contact Lancashire Sports Repairs (www.lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk) who know everything there is to know about repairing gear – most Irish outdoor gear retailers send their repairs to LSR.
