Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had a HP Ipac about 8 years ago that had fingerprint security. Does anyone know if this is same thing ? Biometric fingerprint security, I thnk it was called.
It wouldn't be a selling point for me.

Genuinely curious but what's so impressive about the s4?

It has 8 cores.... That's more than twice what most people have in their PCs! Its a complete power house of a phone.

Most android apps would never use those cores.

What processes will you be running on your phone that require an octo core processor?

So what?? It could have 50 cores and still be pointless if no app is using them.

The bald guy in those vids is incredibly annoying.
Wouldn't mind getting a feel of the 5c. Looks quite cool IMO.

8 cores, wow! This really is Apple vs MS/IBM all over again. Except this time most of the people buying the products aren't tech geeks and don't care about meaningless stuff like that.

Galaxy S4 is marketed as a "Life Companion" ie it's suppose to be the phone you buy and have indefinitely. So yeah, maybe not right now but in a year or more apps will be able to take advantage of more and more cores and ram. Apple is soooo innovative, 5 years half an inch, 6 years 6 colours!! Whoop didn't see that coming!

I'd get an iPhone but I'm not in their ecosystem nor do I wish to be.

I'd say the jump to 64bit is bigger than a jump to 8 cores.

I doubt you will ever see all the cores being used. Is there a single app on the play store, or whatever it's called these days, that only works on one android device?

The thing about processors and the hardware is so fanbois cant beat each other over the head with it. 4 cores, 8 cores, 16 cores, makes no difference if the OS is not tuned. The fact is iOS is tuned to run perfectly in line with their hardware. Android on the S4 is not. Hence why the benchmarks tests are almost identical and in some cases the 5 is ahead of the S4 despite the core count.

Looking at cores and saying wow it's a power house shows a clear lack of understanding of the entire product overall. I also love the 'Life Companion' statement. If Samgung ment the phone to be a life companion and last a long time surely they'd have picked a material better than flimsy plastic as a covering?Tell the truth, if apple came out with a term like 'Life Companion' you'd be on here blasting them for marketing BS.
