Buzz make sure your itunes is updated to 11.1

    I'm doing it over WiFi.

Should it be done via iTunes?

Mine wouldn't install through the phone but its installing now with itunes so I would recommend it plus you can back up your phone manually too

After using it for 2 hours I take back my statement that I hate it. I quite like
it now. Don't think I'd go back to ios6

Just keep trying. I will work.

Backing up would be advisable - just in case!

Feck this is mad, like getting a new phone. The text is so crisp, can't believe something so trival can make such a huge difference!

Finally got it on iPad, still 12 hrs remaining on iPhone. Maybe its just me.... but did anyone else look at the new layout and think "Fisher Price meets vtech" ?!

Updated now on ipad 2 after a couple of attempts. Have to say I like it, Safari seems much quicker and overall I like the new UI.

Got my iP5 done eventually through iTunes. Took about 2 hours to download but the install took about five minutes. Doing my wife's iP4 now, it's downloading again

Obviously a different release for the different hardware. Seems to be going OK. Slowish, but not as bad as it was.

I like it overall. Much nippier, quite like Android except more polished.

Discovered that the phone app now lets you block specific numbers. Finally!

Got it on the iPhone. Impressive looking! But I can't get it to install on the iPad 2. Will wait till tomorrow to see the result of it.

Finally updated iPad 3. NICE!

Can't wait to see it on the 5s with all the features enabled.

Posting from my 4S on it now. The initial download estimate was 24 hrs, but took about 2 in the end.

I also got the update no available message a few times trying to install once it had download - it worked after a few tries. I'd guess it's contacting apple to verify the download and it's timing out because of all the traffic. Just going out of settings and back in let's you try again after you get the message.

I had trouble with iPad2 too, believe it or not but the good-oul turn-it-off-turn-it-on-again brought me to the black screen with the apple logo, took about 20 mins to finish after that and hey presto.

    Good luck with it

If anyone has a download time of >1 hour (and you have a good Internet connection) turn your phone to Airplane mode and then back again. I did this and my download went from 14 hours to 32min.

How are you finding it on the iPad 3? I have it on my iPhone 5 and it runs smooth and am very happy with it. But am concerned about upgrading my iPad as I've heard it's pretty sluggish and not quite iPad ready yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,438 ✭✭✭✭El Guapo!

Downloaded mine on iPhone 5. Took about twenty minutes but its just refusing to install.
Keeps saying verifying update and then fails after about a minute. I've tried about 30 times now.

Is that when it says update unavailable? I'm on my fifth attempt at least

Ah boo, not a fan of the folders on iPad version. You now have to scroll if you've more than nine in a single folder :(
