first attempt at full beard. trimming advice needed

this is my first attempt at a full beard. i need a little advice on trimming and shaping if you lot would be so kind. im finding the neckline hard to control. should i be trimming it shorter than the rest of it? im using an electric trimmer and currently the beard is at a 14 while the tache is a 11/12 (blade length).

I have a van dyke and here's what I do:

beard: 7
beneath jawline: 6
moustache: 4
just below nostrils: 2

Obviously those numbers are specific to my trimmer but hopefully gives you an idea how I vary the length depending on the section of my face.
