Any thoughts on the forecast for Sunday, particularly the clouds ? If cloud cover is below 2,000ft, the event is a non-runner.

Rain forecast to spread from Atlantic saturday night. Not looking good is it

Not great, significant crosswind of perhaps 30kts to slow moving aircraft at 900 ft with a possibility of 1000 ft cloud base, Id say odds are probably 70-30 against right now

Rain should have cleared by flight time. However the wind and unstable cool northwesterly airmass may be a problem.

Should be clear enough though with a good visibility away from scattered showers.

Is there a possibility that this may have to be cancelled until a different weekend (that's assuming they are even in a position to rearrange)?

This is a one off if it's cancelled it won't be rescheduled.

Indeed, the logistics are too much. I have a lot of sympathy for the team that put together a very finely tuned event if the weather is as bad as it looks

Organisers of a simlar event in NW U.K. have decided to cancel on Sunday

As it stands now, the event is on. Yes, there is a system of shít weather on the way but it's way too early to call it.

Right now I'm more concerned with my viewing position.

I'd say it'll be Sunday morning before any WX can be confirmed.

The best thing to do is go to mass (or your preferred equivalent) on Saturday evening/Sunday morning and pray like fúck.

The glass is still half full....................isn't it?

    sorry to hijack the thread

but if the show goes ahead, does anyone know what flightpath they will be taking? are they taking off from Dublin airport?

just want a good location in North Dublin to see the planes with my young lad without having to head into town

Some aircraft are at Dublin, more are at Baldonnell and yet more are coming direct from the UK and returning after the display without landing. Unfortunately north Dublin will have practically no view of things as the planes are being mustered off shore between the Killiney hill beacon and the Kish bank lighthouse before being vectored into the mouth of the liffey and along the viewing route at 1000 ft. You may see some aircraft turning out over north Dublin to depart but it will be hit and miss

It's extremely windy in the Northwest at the moment, I hope this doesn't spread eastwards.

Looks like another monumental IRISH cockup - https://twitter.com/aertv - they haven't got the necessary bandwidth to cope with the demand, they should've just partnered with YouTube or at least broadcast it on RTE TV

40,000 people watching online and we break it? Must be fierce fragile altogether, to my eyes, 40,000 Internet connections would not be massive.
