The heists get better and better. That one was a baby step ;)

Trevor does become somewhat more likeable because of how funny he is later on, I've genuinely burst out laughing a dozen times playing as him purely from his dialogue

How many heists are there as a matter of interest?

6 as far as I know. The Paleto heist is an absolute standout.

It's really class the way you can hide from the cops. I was on foot in the vinewood hills, I went into cover at side of a house as a cop car drove slowly past me not seeing me even though I was in his cone. best cop AI of any game.

The hiding thing doesn't work for me.

I'll hide but they'll still know where I am, like there is a gps on your character or something.

    Annoying.

Get out of the car and take cover behind a wall always works unless a chopper passes over. Iv parked in bushes a few times and got away with it too

I got a nice tunnel that I tend to drive into, it's easily defendable and once I clear the cops there I can move further into the tunnel to get away as they won't follow.

I am going to start another play through tomorrow which will be my 100% one. Current game is up at 76.40% but going to start again to do it right this time.

Right as in spending as little money as possible, and holding off on the Lester missions that manipulate the stock exchange. Maximize my profits from them as much as possible so I can actually buy all the properties and get the spend 200 million between all 3 characters achievement.

I'd say the replay value of the single player will be fantastic even when the GTAonline goes live. Like on my current game I went pro for all my heists and got the best drivers, hackers, and shooters. Next time round I can go on the cheap, plus there is also the different options to choose from on how to actually do the heist.

Switch cars and always knock off your headlights, it makes a big difference. If you're in the city, look for underpasses and tunnels, if you're in the country head straight for the mountain or follow the nearest train tracks until the cops peel off.

I haven't the knack of consistently hiding on foot from cops yet though.

Has anybody else met a hitch hiker who wanted a lift to the broadcast tower near the Vinewood sign? It felt like that was going to be something, but the resolution sort of went nowhere.

How far is everyone in the game so far? I realise that some took a few days off so there will be people who have cleared it...however, for people who didn't take time off work, who have wives\children etc. how far are you all?

I'm approx 23% I think...really enjoying it, and looking forward to the next hesit!

I'm about 60% into it, took off Tuesday and out in about 12 hours between Monday night and Tuesday, every day since I've put in anything between 2-6 hours depending on gym/training/GF/work.

I've done nearly every side msision thats popped up and I've only completed 2 heists so far I'm sure.

I've done 2 or 3 lester missions but I'm going to hold off on the next one until I build up bigger money to invest and make a killing.

I'm about 49% through just going onto the 3rd or 4th Heist (Paleto Bay). Been some late nights but want to get the story done before Online next week. Wanted to do the heist last night but found the jacket from Drive, then had to buy a muscle car and went on chases from the cops and Martins
henchmen as I'm not allowed in LS
    at the moment

Was that (albeit loosely) based on the North Hollywood Shootout?

Was flying over the city last night and there were these kinda sonar type things showing up on the HUD mini-map. Anyone know what they're about?

I'm around the same I think. I keep going to do missions and get sidetracked by something else and end up going and doing it instead as well as playing golf, tennis, darts etc.

I'm about 60% and have just done the
    United Depository
    Heist!

How much did ya get for that particular heist? Its being mentioned in dialogue between Trevor and Michael not long ago in my game.

30million each. Might be more/less depending on the crew

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,828 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

My only complaint on this brilliant game is the car ownership system. I have spent very little time customising cars which I usually love doing as missions usually choose the characters default car for you. Maybe it will work better after the story is complete and you get more time in your own car.

    Also, the collectible items
    letter scraps and spaceship parts
are gonna be hard to find. Only found one of each so far. Will be a good way to explore San Andreas after completing the story as well.

Just finished this last night. Didn't 100% it but i'll give it a whirl, depending on how much of a grind it is to do so.

Anyway....wow. This game has it all, and i probably didn't even do half of it.

Loved the references to Liberty City and seeing
    Johnny
at the beginning, reference to 'some eastern european' and having
Packie along for a few heists
    .

The visuals were stunning, as everyone bar the 'select' few seems to agree. Thought that the driving was grand but probably a tiny bit easy, not a big deal for me really. Didn't like the lack of bikes, particularly that
hunk of junk Franklin gets to keep

LOVED the heists, every one of them. Think i'll actually go back and do them all again the other way and i wouldn't usually be one for that.

One thing that grated with me towards the end, though, was Trevor.
He p1ssed and moaned throughout the jobs after finding out about Brad. Just get the job done and then you can say what you like!
That's just me though. I loved him as a character though, some genuinely funny and fits-of-laughter moments with him made him probably my favourite character.

Another thing - there's a racetrack and a Casino building there, would have been awesome to have that facility during the game but i imagine that'll be part of the DLC?

*major spoiler* The last few missions, the
choice on whether to kill T or M, and the fact you didn't have to do either was class. I lived in fear the last few days that something would happen to one of the protagonists, thank god it all worked out!

Anyway, TL:DR - brilliant, can't wait for online (or GTA 6!):pac::)

With Trevor? Orange circles? Probably those celebrity collectibles for the old couple.

I have just one more heist to go, my head is absolutely wrecked, before GTAV i'd only ever spend about 4 hours a week playing MW3. Now i'm playing GTA at least 8 hours a day, its so addictive, easily the best game i've ever played.

No, Michael. There were a few spots where white rings move outward like radar/sonar. Actually that's probably what it was, I recently bought the sonar place with him. Maybe they show up when you're flying too.

Same, I had lost interesting in playing anything on the xbox lately, FIFA, UFC, Batman, no game kept my interest anymore that's until I got GTA. I seriously can't get enough of it!

Great game I'm really enjoying making my way through it, slowly, as I become easily distracted by the main missions with side things like getting gold medals in shooting, going on a shooting rampage, etc...

    Ok so I'm having 2 problems;

1st is when I meet Cletus for the first time
and go hunting for satelite dishes. The 3rd part where I'm sppose to shoot coyotes; when they go up on the roof, before i get a chance to shoot anything he just says 'That'll do it and seems to end the scene, then walks off. But I'm stuck there with no Coyotes to shoot and the 'mission' doesn't end so I can't move on with the game.

2nd is with a missions marked with a skull near Franklins house
I pull up but there are no markers, no indications at the location as to what I'm sipposed to do. A street fight did break out once but that didn't seem to be it. Nor did the random mugging around the corner. Is it character specific? I've only tried it with Franklin. The skull is orange on the map.

If anyone can offer advice I'd really appreciate it.

    With the 2nd one, the
skulls are for Trevor, they're rampage missions where you can basically go bananas and kill a ton of people, he's the only one who can do them

Easy way to remember the icons is the colours, blue are missions for Michael, green for Franklin and orange for Trevor, the same colours that they have when you bring up the option to switch between them :)

Only trevor can do the skull missions. Every characters missions come up in different color on the map

Ya the colour for the missions fooled me for the first while but even when you switchthe number next to the character should indicate how many current missions he can do.
