Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What a piece of defending!! Playing for his place in a BIG way...

    Wow lucky there!

Mingolet looked dodgy, Skrtel saves the day!

good to see Rodgers having a chat with the two on the right.

Amazing tackle from Skrtel. Very impressed with Moses so far.

Have Chelsea indicated that they are willing to sell at end of loan period or do they want him back?

Yup, it's a bit odd as to why he's the one being asked to be the one to pick up the ball from defence.

A goal and two assists for old shelvey, can we buy him back?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,438 ✭✭✭5live

Now i know what part of Liverpool will always remain part of Shelvey. The assist bonus...

Feel sorry for Jonjo, i like him.

Hes just guilty of forcing it too much, always been his problem

He needs to relax and trust himself and his team more

Plus he shouldn't be playing in front of his back 4, should be in the centre circle or further up...

Especially considering Britton's playing rather than Canas, who seems less of a DM and more of a box-to-box man than the Englishman (Though it would be hard not to ;P).

Michu has not been very prevelant yet

Sakho needs to adapt very quickly. Lots of mistakes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

What also sums Shelvey up from a defensive point of view was how easily Moses waltzed inside him once he had lost the ball. Unforgiveable.

"Shelvey's lost it again" I wonder how many more times we will hear this !

Sakho is over committing a bit at times

  • Registered Users Posts: 486 ✭✭DUBACC

Some of those sakho tackles are a little wild.

    Sahko jumping in a bit.

    Sahko is worrying me.

Hard to see there being no more goals in this match. Swansea getting plenty of looks at goal, and always liable to make a mistake themselves.

Liverpool could really could do with another goal

Skrtel showing Sakho how to defend. I wouldnt have EVER thought i would say that.

Am I right in thinking that from a Fantasy Football PoV there's been no assists so far tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

Sakho over eager to impress i think. Winning a lot of headers tho...

Sakho just keeps flying into tackles

Problem is that most of the time he hasn't been anywhere close to the ball or a player.

Shelvey is such a fun player to watch (especially when he's not playing for Liverpool)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,432 ✭✭✭secman

Bookies will be suspicious, Jonjo making it a bit obvious ..............:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,750 ✭✭✭redzerdrog

Sakho looks off the pace thus far Skrtel has been immense though

Great response from the team after conceding an early goal, A win here would do an awful lot for their belief

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Mignolet should just give it to a Swansea player rather than Wisdom....preferably Shelvey.

2-1 Liverpool half-time. Great game so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,163 ✭✭✭messinkiapina

Thank god for Jonjo Shelvey, that's his best contribution for Liverpool to date.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

Now the test . . . we need to manage the second half better than we have so far this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,399 ✭✭✭✭ThunbergsAreGo

I hope dont just sit back second half. We have the quality to keep the ball well against these and take the sting out of it.

Win would be MASSIVE here, tough tough place to go

    Good game to watch that.

Liverpool impressed me this season, the feckers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,524 ✭✭✭joe123

Delighted with Moses. Already looking twice as dangerous as downing.

Shows the respect some of the team have for Rodgers. Alot of players run over to him after scoring (So far this season two :P)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,067 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

Wisdom - black hole in possession.

Sakho - winning lots of headers but jumping into far too many tackles.

Skrtel - looks a transformed player. Back to his best. Best tackle I've seen in a while.

Moses - should really have an assist to go with his goal. Been great so far.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    HT

    Shelvey 1-2 Sturridge, Moses

Two main observations - Wisdom is attracted to the ball when defending, Liverpool need either Hendo or Gerrard to make the "Lampard run" when counter attacking, arrive late for a cut back, as it is two or three go forward but all in a line offering no angle.

Very enjoyable half. Good passing football from both teams and Jonjo was hilarious.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,629 ✭✭✭googled eyes

Right none of this sitting back in the second half. Liverpool have been prone to relaxing. If we do that Swansea will murder us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

Im not worried about Sakho in general, i think this game was one or two weeks early for him but with 2 injuries what can ya do.

I remember Mertesackers first few games and he was horrendous but good players turn it around after a little time in the league.

  • Site Banned Posts: 4,925 ✭✭✭Agueroooo

Thats just how Sakho rolls. It's the Premier League that needs to get used to it, not vice versa.

proper tackler in a mans game.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭djPSB

Look very dodge at the back.

Sakho looks a little off the pace which is to be expected.

    Moses is very lively.
