Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I got the I phone 5 on release date last September on an 18 month contract with Vodafone. Does anyone know if I sell this phone privately, could I buy out the remaining 6 months on my contract with Vodafone, and start fresh contract again getting the 5s??

Why not just sell the phone and then buy a new one out of contract from Apple?

You'll have to explain that better to me! Sell it privately for say €300...but there are 6 months left on the contract for the new owner??

Em, you'd keep the vodafone sim card, the contract is tied to the sim card/phone number, not the phone. You'd get around €400 i suspect for an iPhone 5 in good condition, have a look on adverts. You'd still need to add about €300 to buy the 5S sim free so you can put your Vodafone sim card into the new phone.

As far as I know, the early termination fee is the amount due on your monthly contract multiplied by how many months are left. So say you pay €50 monthly and have 6 months left, that would cost you €300 to cancel it early. I'm not 100% sure on that though, there may be additional costs.

No. Your contract is with Vodafone.

Sell your current phone for whatever price you can get. Use this money (and add to it from your own pocket if necessary ) to get a new iPhone from the Apple Store (sim-unlocked one). If you do go down this route, make sure at the end of your contract to switch to a sim-only plan, no point paying for more than you should.
