    Hi,

Just wondering at what year does the tax get cheap on the bmw diesel range.? Is it 2008 onwards?

I am thinking of buying a 535d. Is it only if it is 2008 or newer that has the low tax.

    Thanks

Ya under the new CO2 system which starts from july 08 I think, only thing is you are talking about a rather large difference in the price between a 07 535D and and 08 535D, probably about somewhere in the area of the difference in tax split over 7-10 years, or at least it was when I bought mine a year ago.

Under the new co2 ratings, does that not put the 535D into the €1200 a year tax band? Admittedly it's better than €1800, but still ............

All 08s will be on the cheaper tax regardless of whether its pre or post July

Best of luck finding a post 2007 535d. They are almost non existent in this country. The smart money is on buying one on the old tax system where the cost of higher motor tax is built into the lower purchase price.

I think the 535d under the Co2 tax system cost around €750/€800.

Still the same. I bought an 07 LCI 535d last month, the cheapist 08 at the time was 13.5k more expensive!

    2007 model on CO2 tax (178g/km) - €750
    Pre 2007 model on CO2 tax (211g/km) - €1200.

    Engine size tax - €1809

I like to do my research. :D

It's a 3ltr twin turbo so engine tax is €1494.

Do your research properly next time :P
