Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wish RVP would shoot more in those situations.

Kagawa not having a great game

Ah Robin, you can't go screaming in the refs face like that.

Fellaini had a good start but gone a bit quiet

lol thought RVP was going to head butt the ref!

Van Persie seems quiet angry this season. What's wrong with him.

I think Van Persie needs some goals

Aye, Kagawa is way more effective in the hole.

I'll never understand how football players can get away with speaking to refs like that. Look at rugby union. It rarely, if ever, happens, because it's not tolerated. It really is that simple. Red card for RVP tonight and he never does it again. Stiff penalties, and consistency in decision making. That's all it takes.

RVP obviously angry because he didn't pick the team who are top of the league

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,521 ✭✭✭Giggsy11

RVP is angry? Surely he hates Moyes, lol.

I think Kagawa is playing well. Is beating people and keeping the ball well.

clever from Smalling there - shame it didn't result in a chance.

I agree for the most part but of a Champions League night for the first game of the group stage you'd expect the place to be hopping. I'm just not hearing it through my TV really. Pity really.

Ah come on they are in Europe and still singing Sign on Sign on

    Ouch.. close one.

Jeez, almost identical to the goal on Saturday if it went in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,026 ✭✭✭duffman13

I had my doubts about Fellaini but has looked impressive so far, possibly a real centre mid to play with Carrick. Hope Kagawa gets going, hasnt been great coming from the left

    Much better from Valencia tonight

Smalling having an excellent game I think, winning everything in the air , is excellent one v one and is doing ok going forward, he's a much better option than jones at rb anyways. Kagawa has been quiet but always looks so clever on the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

Fellainis been good but his passing has been quite poor.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭SirDelboy18

I do think for all the praise Fellaini has been getting on here, he has misplaced quite a few passes

Was pretty notable to me anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,796 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

    Fellaini and Rooney great

Kagawa, RVP and Valencia very good.

    Good team display.

Fellaini's been pretty average, has given the ball away needlessly 5 or 6 times. Carrick has been good though. Himself, Rooney, van Perdue and Kagawa have caused all the problems for Leverkusen.

Very impressed by that half, probably should be 2 up. Rooney is having a blinder.

Utd still have a few gears to go up,Leverkusen aren't really offering anything so far.

    Solid performance from Utd.

The goal clearly involved a foul on the keeper.

RvP really is a bit like a suspect device at times.

Leverkusen need to work out how to produce a telling angled ball and have a man to ping in straight to the feet of Kießling.

Positives from 1st half include a good solid show from Smalling and some actual forward thinking play from Valencia. Negatives would have to include having to listen to Kevin Kilbane waffle through his book of cliches.

I missed the first half. Anyone care to give me a small synopsis of the first half?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,748 ✭✭✭✭Lovely Bloke

It's amazing the way certain people never have a bit of credit or a good word for certain teams.

    :)

The goal really sums up why the dummy official's on the endline are a waste of time.

    Il take it though :)

Well at the end of the day I think we have to acknowledge that it's a game of two halves and the next goal will be very important. Desire to win the game is paramount and we need to acknowledge how important it is it that both teams come out looking for that all important goal and whoever wins today will come away with the three points.

I'm not a man to incite violence but all I'm saying is, if I had the power to shoot lasers from my eyes and hit anything on this earth, I'd choose Lawrenson's head.

You can't go...not after they were singing that song specifically to get at you. ;)

Always amazes me that non fans get so defensive of certain teams.
