    Expensive items considering the low technology involved. If its for wood working try to get variable speed - the larger the bit the slower you need to go and its a pain having to change belts all the time.
    Try and get at least 1hp as anything less will struggle to power large bits and plug cutters. I have small Ryobi with variable speed and managed to burn out the wiring after drilling 20 large holes with difficulty - lesson learnt.

    McQuillans in Blanchardstown are selling off a fair whack of their tools at knockdown prices at the moment......."shop floor models"....:)

    Your not wrong Recipio, mad money for what they are. I try to avoid Mcquillans Paddy,ta anyway.

    Ended up getting this bad boy fom Axminster.

    Well done. They do a nice kit that clamps on the pillar with rollers on each side. Good for drilling sheet goods or door hinge holes etc.
