Portlaoise Aldi is selling off its summer stockpile of BBQ charcoal for €1.99 a bag (down from €4.99):



A good chance to stock up for next year! (And Met Eireann are toying with the idea of a return of warm weather this weekend/next week...) :pac:

Disposable BBQs also being offloaded for one quid. Not sure if this is also the case in other stores?

This seems to be in most Aldis, well any that have stock left.. Saw a pallet in Aldi, Clondalkin during the week. Gonna pick up a few bags for next year..

A steal at this, very handy for cooking a couple of burgers for the kids (or adults) to get the charcoal taste when you don't wanna go the whole hog and set up the big gun.

Might be an urban legend, but I read years and years ago (pre-web) that eating a meal from a charcoal barbecue was the same as smoking 600 cigarettes. :eek:
