    Hi all,

I've just offered a position to a person who hasn't worked in Ireland before.

Do I need to fill out a P46 and have them also fill out a Form12A in order to sort the tax situation?
I'm confused as to if you need to supply both forms?

    Thanks in advance

    Only form 12A.

Thanks. In what instance would I need a P46?

If you take on an employee and they have lost their P45 and the tax office do not have details of the employees previous earnings then a P46 should be issued so that the tax office can give the person a cumulative cert.
