Coffee morning. Simple suggestion for a novice baker please.

    After seeing the tray bakes on the Great British Bake Off last night, I've decided to bake rather than buy something to sell for the coffee morning in aid of the hospice tomorrow.

    Any suggestions?

    Am I silky in thinking I'd manage brownies or millionaires shortbread?!

    There's a lot of brilliant recipes in the Cooking Club - including brownies and millionaire's shortbread (posted as caramel squares). It's a good place to start for tried-and-tested recipes that are easy to follow.

    The Odlums site has some excellent easy tray bakes too, the coffee walnut one is particularly nice.
