I am looking for a blu-ray player with wifi and that upscales DVDs, I am not too bothered by 3D...should I be? I don't have a full HD TV, it's 720p.

I like this one and it gets good reviews but is there a newer version with built in wifi?

I would like to subscribe to Netflix.

Also I would be interested to know if there is any particular player that can be used to stream live socccer from a web URL? Is it possible to enter web addresses on these wifi models or do you have to share it from a laptop etc. Excuse my ignorance...

    Thanks for any help/advice...

    Hi there.

There was a version of this model which had wifi on board but it has been discontinued and actually the 490 is also going to be discontinued.

The replacement model with wifi is now the 3100.

This is a 2013 model that hasn't been out long and has some really nice control features from phones/tablets etc.

Unfortunately there are very few home cinema devices that support flash and therefore will unfortunately will not allow playback of sites like the one you mentioned.

You can browse websites but the plugins needed are missing and therefore content does not play.

I hope this helps but let us know if this model is of any interest.

    Many thanks

Thanks for this. Does that price include shipping to Galway City? Or what is the best deal you can offer with a HDMI cable or two included?

Hi there, the price on the website does not include delivery.

Delivery would be £12.99 and if you needed an HDMI cable, I have a non 3D 1.5m one that I can do for £7.99 which has a swivel head and is normally £14.99 or alternatively we have a techlink one (2m) that is £10.99 that is 3D rated.

Let me know if you want to go for one of these.
