I had to walk home because my bus couldnt make it up the quays.

You can trivialise it, but it is annoying to have to walk 2 hours because of them.

terrible that the republican losers ruined the protests for people who have genuine grievances with how the country is being run.

This country is unreal... I can't believe there is people giving out about the protests.... How about they get off the bus and protest with the people and maybe something will be done to stop this proxy government from raping every penny we have.
Its funny that all these ar$eholes complaining about the protests will all be the ones crying at budget time and wonder why its happening.

Maybe because the rest of us have jobs etc. to get to

Was it two distinct protests or one that moved from Kildare St to O'Connell St?
Based on the photos the protesters on O'Conell St seemed to be largely republican with republican banners - not many anti-austerity slogans

One of the problems with general protests like this is they are too easily hijacked

At 7 o clock in the evening???
Even if you had jobs you should be out protesting. Some gangsters have run this country into the ground and walk free. This is the most corrupt country in Europe.

You alienate the very backbone of the Irish Economy when you piss them off like last night.

Heads up for you. Not everyone works 9-5 and some people even do this thing called OVERTIME. This may be an alien concept to you but there you go i guess you learned something new today.

I know but a few small percentage of people were on there way to work at 7. Would you agree??? That's besides the point, why wouldn't you protest? We're being walked all over and it will continue... We even have to bail out a f#cking credit union now...

This is the crux of the issue. People bought over priced houses they couldn't afford, companies closed for what ever reasons, people lost their jobs and defaulted on loans, banks went bust and now no one wanta to pick up the pieces. Everyone says its someone else's fault.

This is a load of crap.
People defaulting on loans is not the reason the banks are fecked.

They completely lied about their liquidity and when people, aka share holders and so on, came looking fir their money, the banks didn't have it.

Ah more aggressive, self entitled rhetoric from the group of anti heros who, for some deluded reason, think they have the right and a mandate to speak for the Irish people. You do not represent the "99%" as is often claimed and this kind of "**** all those that don't participate attitude" is exactly why you and your ilk will always stay on the fringes of society and not be taken seriously.

If you want to make a difference as is claimed, come up with sound, well based economic polices to address our current situation. Don't sit on the side line spitting vitriol about ordinary citizen who get annoyed when left wing extremists decide to have a sit down on O'Connell bridge.

So because a few people were on there way to/from work at 7 that makes it ok for an even FEWER people to disrupt traffic? Why can't these people get the message that they are NOT speaking for the majority of the people and in fact most of us wish they would stop with these protests about nothing.

And what if you don't live "across the river" but 7 or 8 miles away?

Are you happy living n this country? Are u happy paying off debts you had nothing to do with? Are you happy that babies born today are inheriting huge debt? Are u happy corrupt politicians and bankers walk free? Are you happy paying off things like a credit union in mulligar or some place? Are you happy to let it continue?

No i am not but sitting down on one of the busiest streets in the country and pissing off the people who you all claim to be helping is NOT the way to go about it!

Serious question for you....what did sitting down on O'Connell bridge achieve?

Did it bring the politicians down?
Did it settle the bank debt?
    Did it jail the bankers?
Or did it piss off the ordinary citizens who are trying to go about their business?

So we let the credit union fold and ordinary people lose their savings? Hardly good for the "99%" is it?

So what you're saying is; get off the bus, walk past the protest and wait for the bus trying to get past the protest?

    It's genius!

How did it happen in the first place? I don't want to pay for it.... How about holding people accountable for this type of thing instead of giving them a pat on the back and à huge bonus and pension
