Fungus/Algae on tarred driveway

Hi folks, first time posting here and not sure if it's even the right forum!
Anyway, this fungus or algae has appeared on my neighbours driveway in the last couple of years and he's looking for info regarding how to get get rid of and prevent it again if possible.
He put mosskiller on the moss last year and then this appeared after!
It appears to be a lot more visible in wet weather rather than during the dry spell.
Any help appreciated.

The slimey thing is more of a lichen I think. You could try a product called Armillatox, its a liquid you spray on. Any benefit is likely to be temporary unless you address the cause of the problem...probably a lot of shade, maybe damp or poor air circulation through the area.
