Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I just found out today I'm due an upgrade on my work phone and I can get a 4S 8gb or a 5C 16gb.

I have to let them know by the end of the day.

    Which should I go for?

If they're offering you the same price, go with the 5c, hands down.

    - the 5c has the larger screen
    - the 5c has better performance
    - the 5c has more storage
    - the 4S will be end of life in 12 months (maybe 24 months), whereas you would expect (based on past performance) that the 5c would be supported for the next three-to-four years.

I would of thought this was a no brainer, go with the most up to date phone, the 5C. But what id like to know, is what network is offering this as Apple havent even released a launch date for Ireland yet!!!!

    That makes no sense.

A two year old phone with 8GB or a brand new phone with 16GB.

    Surely you mean a 5S with 8GBs or a 5C with 16GB?

Actually, the 5S doesn't even come in 8GB.

    Thanks lads.

I was just asking as the 5C is an unknown quantity to me, apart from the fact that it's a cheaper version of the 5 and it's made out of plastic. The 4S I know is reliable as it's just an upgraded version of my 4 which has served me well.

The memory makes no difference to me really as it's a workphone, I'll be keeping my own 32gb 4 for personal stuff, apps / music.

I've gone for the 5C anyway.

    Wise choice.
What network provider are you with and when do they expect to deliver the phone to you?

    Good choice.

I've heard this a couple of times from people so far so feel compelled to correct it. The 5C is not a cheaper version of the 5, it's a cheaper version of the 5S. The 5C has slightly better internals than the old 5 (it is a bit thicker and heavier though).

Which is like the 5 in a plastic case and Justin Bieber colour schemes

An adult really offered you that choice? Really?

That seems odd. Why the end of the day. The phone isn't even in the shops.

Nor do the networks even know when they are getting it yet, very strange thread

Just seemed an odd demand last minute.

Get the newest one. It has more memory aswell. Kind of a no brainer as others have said.

Ah yeah, just factoring in new docking station required and irrelevance of memory as I can only put a few approved apps on it due to in-house security having most stuff blocked to enable secure e-mail.

The colours were kind of putting me off as well, the one I'm getting is white though so that's not too bad.

Looking forward to getting it now. Thanks again lads.
