Biddy is like the proverbial "Nodding Dog".....

The nervous giggles make me want to slap her a bit :D

The chat between the judges is so cringey. :D

Mmm yes. I agree. Very cringy. [/Biddy]

Do they judge the winner solely on today's Bakes or over the series? Or do they change the rules depending on their mood?

Absolutely. It's gorgeous. She seems like she has such a lovely family too.

It's all about the look of them really. A bit like souffles, I tried making them once and they worked well technically but were a bit of a let down in terms of eating them

They have an over-processed feel to them. You can't feel the craft that has gone into the baking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

They should have kept it simple and asked for an Ikea Apron design, all the contestants must know those colours off by heart.

    Tracey's macaroons look fantastic!!

The negativity from the contestants (and I don't blame them one bit) would make me run a mile from them....

Not that they are in my minuscule repertoire......:o

    My humble effort :)
Dulce de leche brownies, very dark chocolate brownie with pockets of caramel :)
Paul would be happy that the centre is still gooey, but disappointed that the edges are a tad overcooked... Biddy would get a fit of giggles and mumble something about textures :D

Just finished licking the screen and I think you got the caramalisation just right, it compliments the dulce de Leche just right:):)

Will you visit us, you can bake to your hearts content, my kitchen comes with two little washeruppers built in????:D:D

This looks very challenging. Tracys luck seems to be in with the mixer landing right side up:D:D:D

Could they not just have given them a double counter now that there is loads of room in the place?

Fiddly as feck. I've made the mistake of doing little individual bite size thingies in the past, a recipe for disaster if you'll excuse the dreadful pun

She's fairly, ahem, caked in the stuff alright (continuing with the punny theme!)

How did Ali write all that up if it's a challenge - did she do it when it was announced or did she know in advance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

Ah, here we go.......Paul will have the ruler out.... :(

I'm trying to find the photo of afternoon tea at the Merrion that I saw recently but I can't. The battenburg wasn't perfectly square and the salmon wasn't sitting perfectly on the bread. Paul would probably slate it if he hadn't bloody well had a hand in making it himself.

Ah sure don't you know Bobblehead that Paul was on his day off?.....;)

They knew in advance - I think Hazeler mentioned they had to submit all their recipes for each challenge on day 1, and could only tweak them slightly
