I think I saw a tweet where she said (joked?) that the sunglasses are her security blanket!

She lectured me at university and she ALWAYS had them!

Thought the fun bread looked really nice but I was surprised that there weren't more disasters in the technical bake. Was it a bit easy?

I think Bridget aka ballerina lady is good fun. I love her hair, must look up how to do it that way :o

Yes, it is not as good as the British one but it's still enjoyable in its own way.

I thought the editing of the program was very bad last night.

Anna made a big deal about one of the women''s ballerina dress and then " the following day" she was wearing the same one.

Did anyone else notice that when they gave the results it was dark outside but when the guy that was sent home (hopeless with names) was talking about how his time was up, being sad to go etc with was daytime.

I must say that there is a greater sense of friendship and goodwill between the contestents compared to the British one, everyone seems to be having fun and a laugh.

I do wish that the program was on for the full hour without ads as I would have loved to have seen all the breads not just selective ones.

Congrats Will on getting through to next week

Guarantee you Clonabreany house weren't too happy about their fancy schmancy marquee in their 'exclusive' venue being referred to as a tent over and over, nor that it was draughty!

The word 'custard' seems to be striking fear into their hearts :) tough one I'd say

Last week Biddy said that it was a baking competition not a butter making competition, this week she has them making custard to go with a pudding???

Is it just me or does Wil barely appear in the show? The editors focus on the same few all the time. Probably a good sign though!

They seem to have a huge amount of time to get it all done. It's so relaxed!

I was thinking the same thing, I'd throw together an apple pie or sticky toffee pud and make some custard while it's baking, 1 hour total? Maybe the pudding has a longer cooking time?

It doesn't look like the type of cake that would take that long in the oven. It'll be interesting to see if anyone's rushed at the end.

That's what I thought! Not belittling the contestants whatsoever, I spose I don't usually have cameras watching my every move when i'm pottering around the kitchen either!

The sound of the weather is crazy. You'd think the sound people would be able to hide it???

It is not a custard making competition Paul it is a baking competition as Biddy pointed out last week.

Would the girls ever tie back their hair! I know the sunglasses have been controversial but at least they keep the hair off your face, I'd be terrified of ending up with a 'glossy strand' in my cake...

I've been thinking that all evening, would they ever get a hairband!

I was thinking the exact same when I saw that girl with the glasses! Plus it's more comfortable up and less sweaty. Icky!

I would not even be able to place it on the edge so perfectly let alone make the plait so even.

I would much prefer to have a bowl of water placed in the oven 10 minutes before putting in the cake/bread rather than just throwing water into the oven like that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

That water was chucked in fairly randomly!

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what
