Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi,just moved into a house today with a bord gais payg meter.have never lived in a house with gas.
My query relates to the gas boiler.it was turned on today by the landlord.does it need to be on even when we are not using the heating, gas cooker or hot water?the reason i wonder is because the meter credit seems to be decreasing since it was turned on.
Any tips re gas boilers and payg meters appreciated

Not sure but there is a green light on and a noise is coming from it as if it is working.not a worrying sound.for example if i was to get up in the middle of the night i could go straight to my gas cooker and turn it on.i know this is the norm during the day but just want to make sure its the same at night i.e i dont have to turn the boiler off?
    Thanks for the help

the pre paid gas meters have a standing charge of 35 cent per day this could be loosing your credit but it would be no harm to get an rgi to carry out a pressure test for reassures of safety
