Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Lampardesque pass from Gerrard.

Sakho in no mans land there

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭livinginkorea

    Sloppy from Agger there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Sakho ain't a LB.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭Big Knox

Southampton doing exactly what's needed to cause us problems already. We need to be very careful or we will make mistakes at the back.

    Sakho looks lost at LB!

this line up has given the initiative to Southampton, its awkward and unnecessary! looks like were gonna need a moment of magic from Sturridge

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭livinginkorea

Jesus a bit nervy at the back lads, just hoof it out

Hilarious "no, after you Sir" stuff from Liverpool there.

Agger and Sakho need to swap.

Wow great save from Boruc from a Gerrard free kick.

Some great defending from Agger so far

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭djPSB

Lucas needs to give the back four more protection.

    Like a sieve at times.

    Aspas is extremely frustrating!

Pool are all over the shop. Doesn't seem to be any shape to the team.

are we getting our bad half out of the system in the first half?

painful stuff to watch so far

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

No one is making an angle/run for the defenders to pass out from the back.

Everyone is a bit static, slow to move sideways and take an opposition player with him.

Lambert should have done better there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

Not enough pressing from Liverpool in midfield.

We were lucky there. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet.

This is comical at the back.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭djPSB

Lucas caught way too far up the pitch again.

Have we any midfielders on the bench?

Get Aspas off and get another man in the middle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

The only way I can see us winning this is set pieces.

This 11 is lopsided and seriously lacking in quality on the ball.

    Southampton bossing this game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

Agree that Aspas needs to come off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Southampton are picking us apart....looks like 'The Rodgers' underestimated them again.

    Sterling, Ibe, Alberto

Sakho is constantly worried about going forward.

Good chance for Moses, Sturridge looks a bit off the pace.

We need a goal badly to settle the nerves. It's one of those games, first goal is going to be massive!

There's no means of connection between defence/midfield and midfield/attack for Liverpool. Southampton's off-the-ball pressure on the back four who look like they haven't ever met before adds up..

  • Registered Users Posts: 526 ✭✭✭ManOnFire

This is the opposite of what Rodgers says is his football philosophy, so unbalanced

Jaysus, we need to sign a few midfielders asap

Aspas criticism is a bit over the top imo.

    This ref is ****e.

That should have been a penalty for Sturridge

He's done more than either Sturridge or Moses.

For me, it's not actually him. It''s the system. Unbalanced.

    Agree.

Not really sure what Henderson contributes in these type of games to be honest.

That should have been a penalty for Sturridge

Ref would have blown for a free if it was outside the box. He knew he would have to award the pen and bottled it IMO.

Agger has been great so far

    Agger has been excellent.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us go 3-5-2 in the second half.
