Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yep. All that **** throught the summer, you can understand how he felt.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Shows how much we miss Johnson and Coutinho IMO.......Lazy performance, no guile no urgency, no leadership.......just plain awful. BR was shown up here too btw, awful tactics and team selection.

None of them seem to be too upset, that is the worst thing. Maybe only Kolo.

    Jesus wept Sterling.

    Only thing he got right.

the rest stink of arrogance and not showing enough respect to a team that have beaten us last time we met.

whenever we show form Brendan billy big balls comes out to play, and he either talks crap or gets ahead of himself.

He'll either come out and slate the players or else say they played well and didn't deserve to lose.

They have played better than us without a doubt, but there has been nothing special with their play. Us being so god awful poor makes them look better.

Lucas is useless for games like this. Away from home or against a better team who will see more of the ball in midfield he's fine but at home to a team you should be beating isn't the game for him. He offers zero creativity and is a liability on the ball.

Well that was very poor. Suarez back next week. We need him badly.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,652 ✭✭✭I am pie

What a steaming bag of lazy ****3.

I would be livid if I had paid to watch that.

An embarassment of a team performance, if Rodgers is man enough he should be be saying that level of effort and performance is unacceptable. Any excuses and I will boot the tv!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,380 ✭✭✭daRobot

The selection was ultimately to blame. Rodgers is completely at fault.

    Thank Christ Suarez is back.

That idiot of a commentator on Setanta can't even get Nigel Adkins name right. He's called him Neil a few times now. Wouldn't you think someone would tell him?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭mrsoundie

Poor result, yet with the injuries they are at the moment, what does anyone expect?

IMHO a good wake up call that needs to be listened to and worked upon.

But Jesus, the morale took a nose dive during the thread, heads up, long road ahead.

Tbh there was a lot more wrong that I saw on Setanta that I would like to put right first......not sure it was any commentator's fault tho :(

    That was awful!!

Imagine if Suarez had gone during the summer, we'd have nothing to look forward to. He can't come back soon enough. Eleven players plus subs in red shirts and they never looked like scoring! Brutal stuff!!

very poor performance..The four center backs idea was a bad one.

Southampton were very good at pressing and harrying us today. The problem is we are trying to play a passing game with players that cant pass the ball.

No speed or creativity at all in the midfield or the wings.

Gerrard and Lucas were rubbish..Sturridge was rubbish and didnt get stuck in...

why do we not press teams any more? any team who presses us and gets physical with us will take points off us this season.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 642 ✭✭✭viper006

We have had afew bad 2nd halves this season already and held on but we havent learned or improved from these games and we finally lost today at anfield to a team we have to beating if you going to get top 4. It is pretty appalling how bad we were today.

After a great defensive start to the season, injuries and forced changes have taken their toll. Losing johnson, toure, agger , suarez and coutinho are various stages of last few games has made us very unbalanced. I didnt think southampton were anything amazing today, they played well enough but we made their job alot easier.

All in all, i am happy with our points total so far this season but we are getting worse as the games going on. I really hope this is a wake up for the team. I am not a fan of aspas and i think alberto is one for the future but tied in with lucas and hendo playing poorly and stevie just not doing it at all, our midfield is getting walked all over. I was gutted we werent in for Eriksen , i think he would have been great for us.

Sunderland match is huge for us next sunday. a team low on confidence and not playing well, we have to be taking the points next week.

Missed the game today but from reading the comments we were awful. I felt this was coming, the 2nd half performance vs Swansea shattered my optimism right there and then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,877 ✭✭✭RayCon

This type of result was hardly surprising. Our start to the season has been flattering. We've been surviving on 1st half performances, 1-0 scorelines and then holding on. It was bound to crack.
