Galaxy S2 dead screen - downloading?

A friend has an S2 with a dead screen (cracked and non functioning) which needs to go for repair or replacement. All info on the phone will be lost. They are hoping to download everything to a pc before sending it off, but the screen lock on the phone is preventing access to the files on the phone via computer. As the screen is dead there is no way to unlock the phone.

Does anyone know a way around this? Fwiw the lock is numeric, not sure if its part of the samsung security software or an app.

The screen can be replaced without needing a software update. Ask for this when leaving it in. If they wont do it, just bring it elsewhere.

Thanks. Afaik its being done via insurance, so the phone is being sent off by the phone company. Could end up with a new phone, or the existing one, wiped.

Borrow a screen from someone else before sending it and copy the info :pac:

    Only a ten minute swap
